ABOUT

Over a decade in property claims, spent on both sides of the same document.

My Story

I'm Patrick.

I’ve adjusted property claims for a national carrier, written thousands of Xactimate estimates as a contractor in a carrier network, and owned a mitigation company before either of those. The through-line is the estimate: building it, defending it, and taking it.

That range is the reason this practice exists. Most people reviewing a property claim have only ever seen it from one direction. If you’ve only written for contractors, you don’t know which arguments a desk adjuster has heard a hundred times and already has an answer for. If you’ve only adjusted, you don’t know what it costs to actually perform the repair you just priced. Knowing both is what separates a finding that moves a file from one that generates another letter.

I also studied lean manufacturing during my degree and trained in it at Boeing, which turns out to be unexpectedly relevant. A claim file is a process with defects in it, and the defects repeat. Reviewing enough of them teaches you where to look first.

How I Work

A process build on accountability and detail.

01.

Every finding is sourced. If I can't tie it to a line item, a policy provision, or a code section, it doesn't go in the memorandum.

02.

I tell you when the file is weak. A review that inflates a thin claim costs you credibility the next time you bring one, and it's the fastest way for a consultant to become a liability.

03

The scope is set before the work starts, in writing, including the fee and what's excluded.

04

Work performed for a public adjusting firm stays inside that firm. I don't contact your insured and I don't solicit your client.

05

Opinions come from the documentation and the field conditions, not from who retained me.

About the Name

Bikoret is Hebrew for review,  inspection, or examination —

the act of checking something carefully against a standard to see whether it holds.

That’s the whole job. Not advocacy, not investigation for its own sake. Take the document in front of you, compare it to what the loss, the policy, and the code require, and report what the comparison shows.
